If you belong to any affiliate program, you know that beingsuccessful at the affiliate game hinges on one simple concept:getting as many people to join as you possibly can. There are a lot of different programs out there and even moreways promote them, so I've narrowed things down to what I believeare the five absolute best ways to get the word out about YOURaffiliate program. So, without further ado, here they are:1) ON EVERY PAGE OF YOUR WEB SITEThat's right... every page. After looking through your site andseeing that link on every page, they're just bound to click on atleast one of them. Promoting your program on every page will notonly utilize the proven marketing method of repetition, but willalso display your enthusiasm, which is also a great tool.2) IN YOUR NEWSLETTERSince most of your core customers are already looking at it, yournewsletter is a terrific place to promote your affiliate program.Position an ad with a link right at the top of your newsletter, again somewhere in the middle, and also at the bottom.3) EZINE ADSEzines like DEMC and AIM have huge numbers of subscribers, andboth cater mostly to an audience of online businesspeople andopportunity seekers. Therefore, ads placed in these newsletterscan reach literally tens of thousands of the right kind ofpeople. Reaching a targeted audience like this is key if youwant a good return on your investment.4) PRESS RELEASESIf your affiliate program is new, unique, or especiallyprofitable, a press release sent to the right audience can reallygive you a boost. A well-written press release just placed onyour web site can give your program a "newsy" feel that mightreally impress people.5) WORD OF MOUTHI can't say enough about word-of-mouth advertising. If you'reexcited about your affiliate program, talk about it. Tell yourfriends, your family, your co-workers, and people on the bus allabout how you're making money. People who know you are morelikely to take you on your word, and if they tell their friendsand family... you get the picture.Promoting your affiliate program really isn't very hard, and itcan make the difference between success and failure. Use thesemethods, and you're likely to go far.

Five Things to Look For to Join Any Affiliate Program!
Here's a really simple way... to find out which affiliate program provides all the 7 packages to join an affiliateprogram. When I wanted to start to join an affiliate program it took me awhile to pick the best one. My inbox was filled up with all these advertisements and I just didn't know how to pick the right program. Now how would you know which program is going to bring the best profit? I personally believe that a lot of the income is created from the effort an affiliate marketer puts into a program. I have 7 tips for you before you pick the best one.1. Look for the best commission. You need a program that will pay you a good commission rate. It should pay you at least 20% of each sale. A good rate is 50% and anything above that is ideal. You should also look for how often they pay. Some programs pay you twice a month and sometimes every week. Most programs also only pay youwhen you have earned a base amount.2. Look for a good Back Office Support. What is the support for your program like? Do they have a good list of Frequently Asked Questions "AKA", a contact email address with a quick response? Any more than 3 days for a response is too long. Programs that offer live chat is even better.3. Statistics for you to see.The program should offer an automated and immediate reaction to your statistics. They should automatically contact you when you receive a client, prospect, lead, customer or when you make a sale. It should also be ready to view in your downline as soon as you have the knowledge of the sale etc.4. The program must have Incentives. It is important to have marketing tools to keep track of business and weekly training from successful people that is making it. If it has marketing letters or articles that is a plus.5. Find out if you will get monthly reports or updates.Every good program will have news and training updates sent to your inbox so you can learn what works best for theprogram and what the top affiliates of the program are doing. You should also be able to read this on their website.------------------------------------------------------------Before you dive into anything, it is important to do your business. Learn as much as you can and make sure you feel comfortable with your decision before going ahead. If you look for these 5 Tips when you start looking for the best affiliate program, I guarantee you that you won't bedisappointed when you join that company. This will save you time and money. How to Create a Lifetime Commissions Affiliate Program
Affiliate programs are a great way of marketing online. You pay only for the results you get - if someonereferred to your site makes a purchase. But if you want to make a really strong affiliate program, with adoring-sales-machines for affiliates, it must beVERY attractive to affiliates. The best way to do that is to offer lifetimecommissions. That means you pay commissions on EVERYpurchase a referred customer makes, not just on thefirst purchase. If you pay commissions for every purchase that yourreferred customers make, you offer your affiliates thechance to earn a lot more money than they otherwisewould. That will strongly motivate your smarter affiliates towork harder and be creative, and that is EXACTLY whatyou want them to do.There are lots of things that make an affiliate programgreat, but one of the most important is reliable tracking.==============================The magic ingredient: Tracking==============================If an affiliate sends you a customer, the affiliatemust earn a commission when that customer makes apurchase. You would not have that customer if the affiliate hadnot referred them, so the affiliate deserves to berewarded. To achieve this you must track all referrals reliably, both online and off.You should use cookies to store the referringaffiliate's ID number. You should set them with noexpiry date, but they will inevitably be lost wellwithin a few months, if not weeks, after they are set.Browsers have a limit to the number of cookies theycan store. A lot of web sites now use cookies. Thismeans that your cookies will often be overwritten bythose from other web sites. You must make sure that your cookies work with InternetExplorer 6, which will discard cookies not compliantwith P3P standards.Details:http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnpriv/html/ie6privacyfeature.aspTracking by IP address is not an accurate method oflong-term tracking, however it is an effective way totrack visitors during their FIRST visit to your site.It is a good idea to use IP tracking to catch anypeople who have cookies disabled.Every time your affiliates send someone to theiraffiliate URL, your server should send them to either adynamically generated or pre-generated page with theiraffiliate ID embedded in it. The affiliate's ID shouldalso be stored in the URL, so that if the customerbookmarks and returns, the affiliate is still creditedwith the sale.In your database of customer profiles, you should storethe ID of the affiliate who referred each customer.Whenever a customer "profile" makes a purchase (onlineor off) you should credit the appropriate affiliate(s)for the sale.Storing the affiliate's ID in the customer's profile isthe best, most reliable way to track in the long term, both offline and on.Some systems also allow you to track offline bysupplying the user with a fake phone extension. Thisextension is actually the referring affiliate's ID. Youcan also ask people faxing you to quote an order number- which includes the affiliate's ID.To catch any who "slip though the cracks", your orderprocessing software should scan your order history forany orders going to the same name, e-mail address orphone number of a customer, and pay the referringaffiliate their due commission.========================================Where to get affiliate tracking software========================================You have two options: build or buy.--------------------------------------------------Buying affiliate software--------------------------------------------------Buying affiliate tracking software is the way to go.It is so much cheaper than developing it yourself, and quality is guaranteed. There is only one merchant offering a system thatcan handle true lifetime commissions: My AffiliateProgram, with it's LifeTime Commissions module add-on.This is the only system custom-built for lifetimecommissions, and it's fresh off the production line(December 2001).There is one other good near-lifetime system - Ultimate Affiliate. It is not specifically designed for lifetime commissions, but it can handle residual commissions with ease.------------------------------------My Affiliate Program------------------------------------This is a great affiliate tracking software suite, recently made even better by the addition of theLifeTime Commissions module. It is run by Kowabunga Technologies, and was honoredwith the "Editor's Choice" Award by Dr. Ralph Wilsonof Wilson Internet, who called it "the 'Cadillac'of its category."Wilson Web:http://wilsonweb.comIt is hosted on Kowabunga's secure servers, thougha version hosted on your own domain is possible. Over500 Merchants use MYAP.It tracks primarily by a cookie for the firstpurchase. CGI/ASP tracking is also available, and it can even track sales made over the phone.Affiliate management is also simple, with automatedsign-up and a clear interface. You can even reward your top earning affiliates withbonuses that can be easily and securely awarded. The LifeTime Commissions module itself works bygenerating a "LifeTime identifier" when your customersmake a purchase. This field can be anything you want, like thecustomer's surname plus the last 5 digits of theircredit card, their name and phone number,or any other combination you can think of.When a sale is made this field is compared with atable that contains a list of these fields and theaffiliate that referred them. If it finds a match,it awards the due commission. If it doesn't find a match, it then looks for an affiliateID in the cookie and makes a new entry to the lifetimeidentifier database.A simple, yet highly effective system. Database trackingis the most reliable way to track in the long term.I highly recommend MYAP with the LifeTime Commissionsmodule for lifetime tracking. My Affiliate Program Software:http://www.myaffiliateprogram.com------------------------------------Ultimate Affiliate------------------------------------Ultimate Affiliate is a good PERL software suite forUNIX servers. Ultimate Affiliate tracks by cookie, IPaddress, and can produce dynamic or static web pagesthat have the ID of the referring affiliate embedded inall internal URLs. All your affiliates' details arestored in a MySQL database. With a knowledge of PERL and HTML you can customizevirtually any page created by the software. This software can easily handle recurring commissions, and has graphical stats for both you and youraffiliates. It can handle up to twelve tiers ofcommissions.I recommend you do not pay out on more than two tiers.More than two tiers is multi-level marketing, whichgenerally has a bad image on the Internet because itattracts spammers. MLM products also tend to be over-priced to pay for the many tiers of commissionsUltimate Affiliate:http://www.groundbreak.com================================================Give your affiliates the right tools for the job================================================One thing that really makes some programs stand head-and-shoulders above the rest is real-time tracking thatshows affiliates the conversion rates for their variouslinks. That means affiliates can see which of their variouslinks are performing and get an idea why, and whatlinks aren't and how they could be improved.Affiliates should be able to see the number of click-throughs to each of their different links, the numberof sales that each link has made, and the conversionrate for each link should be calculated for them. This enables them to figure out how to improve theirlinks, and thus make more money for themselves, and foryou. They should also be able to set the landing page forthese links, so that they can link to specificproducts.Affiliates who link to and promote specific productsare a lot more successful than those who simply promoteyour site in general. The shorter and less your links look like referral URLsthe better. Some people recognize affiliate URLs, andare suspicious of them.Consider the following (imaginary) URLs:http://www.pottery-store.com?more-infohttp://www.pottery-store.com/cgi-bin/affiliate-referral.cgi?affiliate12341The first one (where "more-info" is the affiliate'susername) is much more likely to lure a click-through.A big advantage of short referral URLs is they areeasier to put into newsletters, which are a highlyeffective way to advertise online.=============================Help your affiliates help you=============================Ninety percent of affiliates won't make a lot of moneyfor you. They need encouragement, motivation, and help.Consider giving performance bonuses to the top earners.Run a monthly newsletter and praise your top affiliatesin it.Tell your other affiliates how the top earners did it,and about the performance bonus you gave them. Give youraffiliates ideas on how to promote your products best.Your top earners will appreciate the ego massage, andyour other affiliates will find out what's possible ifthey put their mind to it.For more details see:How to make your affiliates enthusiastically loyalhttp://www.associateprograms.com/search/affiliate-loyalty.shtmlRemember, when you help your affiliates get sales, youhelp yourself get sales.==============The end result==============Starting a lifetime affiliate program is not easy, butthe rewards are worth it.To make your affiliate program successful, you need tomake it attractive to affiliates, and the best way todo that is offer good rewards. If you pay lifetime commissions you offer affiliatesthe opportunity to earn more money than they normallywould. They will work harder for the better commissionsand in the end, it will pay off with a better, moreeffective affiliate program, that is more profitablefor you.-Christopher Pearcehttp://www.LifetimeCommissions.com-=====================Links in this article:=====================Problems with Internet Explorer 6 and cookies:http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnpriv/html/ie6privacyfeature.aspWilson Web:http://wilsonweb.comMy Affiliate Program tracking software:http://www.myaffiliateprogram.comGroundBreak (Ultimate Affiliate) tracking software:http://www.groundbreak.comeLance.com, somewhere to start looking for programmers:http://www.elance.com/How to make your affiliates enthusiastically loyalhttp://www.associateprograms.com/search/affiliate-loyalty.shtml

Affiliate Programs-An Easy Start to Online Income
If you have been longing to start a business online you may be coming across terms you've never heard before. You may also have found the opportunities available are overwhelming. Where do you begin? AFFILIATE PROGRAMS - EASY START Affiliate programs may be the easiest online business to start running. Why? With any online business you must have a product or service to sell. First you must create this product or service and then you must be able to fill orders. Selling your own product or service also means creating a website, learning how to write ad copy, setting up a marketing plan, being able to accept payments online and obviously doing the work. If you're selling a physical product then you will need to make or buy the item, package it and pay for shipping costs. If you provide a service than you will likely have to start by doing free jobs to build your credibility and then when you are charging for your service you are still limited by how much work you can actually handle. THE MAGIC OF AFFILIATE PROGRAMS Affiliate programs are a great way to get started in an online business. In fact there are even some 'Super Affiliates' who are making fabulous incomes from affiliate programs. So, what ARE affiliate programs? Affiliate programs allow you to sell another company's service or product and make a commission on every sale or lead. You do not even need to build a website or handle the transaction. Your job is to drive traffic (customers) to your affiliate link. An affiliate link is a special URL code that will identify customers coming to the company's site from your advertising. It will likely be the website address with a code attached to the end. Some affiliate programs also have tiers. That means if someone who is interested in SELLING the product comes through your link and signs up you will also get a small percentage of THEIR earnings. HOW DO I CHOOSE A PROGRAM? You should research the popularity of some of your interests. Try to determine if people are buying that product or service online. There are many sources for finding that information including free ones such as the Overture keyword tool. When you have found an area that is popular then type the subject along with 'affiliate program' into your search engine and see which programs have services or products for that area. You can also use an affiliate program directory. When you have found a program that looks interesting you should read the terms of the program. Make sure that payouts are not based on a high commission earning or you may never see your money. Also try to choose programs with high commission rates. Often you will find ebooks and downloadable software has the highest rates as there is no physical product to make or ship. If you are satisfied with the terms then you need to sign up - usually a simple process. START MARKETING The reason affiliate programs are so great for beginners is that you only need to focus on marketing - not making - your product. Many affiliate programs have information on how to market and give you tools such as banners, product feeds and more. You can also look for other information on marketing including writing articles, creating pay-per-click campaigns, commenting in online forums etc. As you gain experience marketing you will make adjustments to your selling and start creating a wonderful income! Communication Smoothes the Path of Change
Productivity almost always suffers in times of great change, because employee stress dramatically increases due to the universal fear of the unknown. In these times, communication becomes more important than ever. Often senior executives genuinely believe they are communicating with employees when it comes to matters that affect them. Unfortunately, they often underestimate the number of matters that includes, for the fact is that most high level decisions will affect employees in one way or another. (That's why a new law recently went into effect in Britain forcing employers to answer employees' questions on any changes or decisions that affect them.) So how do you know what is important to employees and what to tell them? Well, you need to put yourself in the position, the mind, the heart of employeesÑone employee at a time. If you were that person, what would you be worried about right now in the current situation? What would be important for you to know? What is the worst thing that could happen, and would you want to know about it in advance? How would you want to be told? Of course, you can't answer those questions yourself. You need input from the very people you are trying to understand. Depending on how much you can discuss or how much is already known, you might ask a few individuals what the grapevine is saying, and what people are worrying and wondering about. Now, armed with this information, draft the answers to the questions. Of course they must be truthful answers, for insincerity is easily recognized and will deal a death blow to your communication efforts. Then they must be couched in terms that are clear and uncompromising, but also considerate and compassionate. It's worth spending some time on this partÑlack of commitment to your message is also easily read and will automatically raise the cynicism level among employees. Next comes dissemination of the information. There is, as we all know, no shortage of communication technology in the business world. However, the way a person receives news can dramatically affect how he or she feels about it, so you need to choose the medium very carefully. E-mail can be perceived as cold and unfeeling in many cases, although it is useful for routine updates that don't have emotional overtones. Some messages are better spoken, either by managers to their groups or by the CEO to the whole organization. If the messengers don't have highly developed communication skills, it's worth engaging the services of professional speech writers or presentation coaches to help them, but be sure the message remains honest, clear and compassionate. And above all, follow through on your commitments and promises. Nothing turns employees off more than empty words, but sincere, caring, ongoing communication can form the basis for building employee engagement when the present time of turmoil ends. How to start your own Affiliate Program – Internet Marketing
This is how most entrepreneurs become filthy stinking rich! EVEN Ebay has an affiliate program! The truth is its hard generating traffic on your own and if you want massive amounts of traffic this is the best way I know of. The great thing about creating your own affiliate program is you don’t have to pay a cent until one of your affiliates makes a sale. However in order to get affiliates to want to promote your product, you do need to make it enticing for them. If you’re selling a digital product where you make basically 100% of the profits then your affiliates will be expecting a decent cut of the profits. After all, advertising can be quite expensive. It needs to be worth “their” while. If your digital product sells for $97 ++ and you offer a 50% commission… your not going to have any troubles getting affiliates to sign on and promote your product (unless of course your salescopy isn’t up to scratch or your product has a bad reputation, I’ve seen that happen before).Writing up your affiliate page and making it easier for your affiliates to promote your product will be of great benefit to you as well. After all, writing up email promotions, ezines, banners etc… is going to be a whole lot easier for you then what it will be for your affiliate because NO-ONE knows YOUR products as well as you do!So how can you get an affiliate program?Well there are quite a few options… Probably the most popular affiliate program would be ClickBank’s. Once you make your first sale (and they also give you the option of making the sale yourself) then they will index your site in their affiliate programs to promote. This gives you a large audience to find eager and waiting affiliates. You can also get other affiliate programs that give you greater control and tracking, just do a search in Google for “Affiliate Software”© Joanne King - http://www.joesy.com

Mining For Gold With The Best Affiliate Programs And Hitting
Colin McDougall tinkered around with affiliate programs earning a few dollars, nothing much to write home about, even had his own e-commerce site, known as the man’s mall. In theory that site was supposed to offer all sorts of gadgets for guys. Colin created the site with the concept “build it they will come” but in reality no one did. Like so many dot.com ventures, it was a huge disappointment, lots of hard work and no pay off.
Colin says, “The man’s mall failed because I started the venture blindly, I didn’t have a clue how the search engines worked or how to make money with affiliate programs. Without an action plan and a map on how to get the gold it was all pointless. But not anymore, I hit the internet gold mine, a virtual moneymaking machine.”
Read on to learn the facts about affiliate marketing and how Colin went from failing on the Internet to making serious money with affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is paying off for retailers
2003 online sales are bucking the retail trend. With traditional retail sales down, retailers are forced to do more with less. They’ve shifted budgets away from expensive portal deals to performance-based affiliate marketing and search engine marketing and it’s paying off. (Source: Forrester Research)
It’s no surprise that traditional advertisers such as American Express, National Geographic, Toshiba and even Disney are flocking to the emerging affiliate marketing model. Advertisers have a very low risk with affiliate marketing; they simply pay a commission for actual sales. No sales, no commission.
Affiliates love it too
Affiliates who understand the affiliate marketing business are earning huge incomes, even those who are doing it as a hobby, in many cases, are earning a few hundred to a few thousand extra dollars each month.
Jeff Pullen, President of Commission Junction, a third party provider of infrastructure and tracking told the crowd at a recent conference held in Santa Barbara that, “Commissions are up 80% over the previous year”. According to the Affiliate Summit, held in early November 2003 in New York City, affiliate marketing is already a $14 billion industry. (Source: Marketing Sherpa)
Online shopping is booming – the future is bright
Affiliate marketing works because the pay for performance model makes sense. Plus, people are flocking to the Internet in droves to shop online. According to Forrester Research, a Massachusetts-based research firm, nationally online sales are expected to total $96 billion this year and climb to $229 billion by 2008.
Affiliate marketing in a nutshell
An affiliate program is a business relationship where one website owner (a “merchant”) agrees to pay another website owner (an “affiliate”) a commission simply for referring customers.
Merchants typically manage their affiliate program by joining a commission network such as Commission Junction or LinkShare who provide third-party tracking and infrastructure or by purchasing and installing specialized tracking software on their own server.
See Commission Junction and LinkShare.com for a list of merchants who are looking for affiliates to promote their products and services.
How Colin got involved with affiliate marketing
Colin says: “I found the treasure map; the Affiliate Marketers Handbook written by James Martell,” an entrepreneur and successful affiliate marketer. The first time Colin read the Affiliate Marketers Handbook he mentions, that it was like looking at the horizon through binoculars; he could see where he was headed. The second time reading the book Colin, it was like looking at a road map and seeing how to reach the riches on the horizon.
Colin says, “With the book, you learn how to get organized, plan the site, run the business, and focus on the riches along the horizon.”
Colin learned firsthand, with the man’s mall, that without understanding the search engines, your business is dead in the water. The “build it they will come” mind set, just doesn’t cut it.
As Colin says: “The book’s system for using keywords really makes sense, after my prior experience it’s like this light bulb went off…so that’s how I’m going to attract visitors and making money. In my old business, I was set up to fail, with the handbook I’m set up to win.”
Got Dot: How did you go from failing at the Internet to make money?
Colin explains, “By reading James’ handbook. His book is real, it’s not the stuff of Internet legends, but it’s an honest, to goodness road map. James really shares what works. I’ve followed his 8-step system™ and now have a bigger house, a bigger car and financial independence.
At first, I was amazed at how much the book gives away, but that’s James. He really wants everybody to succeed, he’s got things all laid out in his book. If you follow it the money’s there, it’s up to the reader to go for the gold.”
Got Dot: What was it like getting started?
Colin says, “In the beginning I was skeptical, making money with affiliate marketing, just seemed unreal. After attending James’ original class in Vancouver, at the prodding of a friend Chuck Anderson, and actually meeting with other people, earning lots of money with affiliate marketing, the whole process really resonated. I knew I could do it, if they could.”
Got Dot: Why was that so hard to grasp?
Colin: “As a system tech I was working 50% harder for a measly 5% raise, all of $250/month. It was awful. In the class all these people were making a lot more money than me, working just a few hours a day. What a wake up call. I felt like a dummy slaving away at 60 hours a week, with practically nothing to show for it.”
Colin adds, “The hard part for me was getting over my past, removing the skepticism, and just running. My disbelief held me back four months. So I started off small spending one hour a day doing affiliate marketing.
The beginning search engine traffic and commission checks…just blew me away, talk about a real eye-opener. Nothing like numbers to get a techie excited.”
Got Dot: What’s the money like?
Colin: “When I first started I earned $400 a month, nearly double my raise as a system tech. By the end of the year I hoped to make $5k a month (my system tech salary). I hit that mark in six months. Within 9 months I earned $120K. The day job is now history. The money’s astounding, it just keeps growing.”
Got Dot: What is your product niche?
Colin says, “In the beginning, I went after the big paycheck, like credit cards. My newer sites feature things I want to learn more about or hobbies.”
Colin follows the same methods for web site construction developed by James Martell. These principals are incorporated into Colin’s successful sites featuring: mortgage loans, furniture slip covers and credit card applications.
Got Dot: What is a typical day like?
Colin says, “Its ideal. How many fathers can say they have time to play Barbie’s with their daughter? Everyday I work for two hours and spend an afternoon in the park with the family, then another hour or two of work and its dinner time, what a day!”
Got Dot: What tips do have for someone starting out?
Colin says: “Buy the Affiliate Marketers Handbook, follow it step-by-step. Don’t jump ahead. Devote one hour a day to affiliate marketing, when you get home from work. Make the sacrifice. The short term pain is worth the long term gain. Don’t settle for fool’s gold, searching through the “best affiliate programs”, find the real gold, James Martell’s 8-step system™, it’s within your grasp. Go for the gold.”

Choosing the Right Affiliate Program for YOU!
Encouraging piece on how to remain passionate and select the right affiliate program for you.The art of selecting an affiliate with passion.
Have you ever noticed that truly successful people are always passionate? Passionate about their field of endeavour. Passionate about life. And passionate about spreading success. We have seen it in all walks of life. It boomed with the likes of Dale Carnegie, Cavett Robert, and Frank Bettger, flourished further with Mark Victor Hansen and Bobbie Gee. They passed it on to all who were susceptible, it was like new cases of passion emerged on a daily basis!
The problem was, and has always been that very few recipients have gone on to display the full blown symptoms of infectious passion - success! You know the drill; you have this freshly acquired case of passion for your job and return to work bursting with enthusiasm, only to find everyone else seems to have had the shot that has prevented them from catching passion. Before you know it, like a dose of the flu you to are over the infection and back to the same old same old.
Fortunately if you have had passion in the past it is very easy to catch again. I say fortunately because once you have passion you generally aim to achieve bigger and greater things. In the past this has sometimes required a career change resulting in an element of risk. And once again it is all too easy to let this dose of passion pass with the advent of kids, bills and mortgage.
I can see our forefathers wishing they were around today, suffering a bad dose of passion. The internet means you can be passionate about something and find it instantly. It also means you can establish an online income with little or no out of pocket expense by way of an affiliate program. The internet is open 24/7 allowing you to continue with the same old same old whilst you retain passion and build your new and exciting affiliate business. It is simple and easy to establish your net presence in your spare time.
By reading this you are going to catch your next dose of passion! As part of the required treatment I want you to avoid passion killers.
If you are on a budget and lets face it most of us are, affiliate programs can help get your new successful business up and running. But here in lies the trap for new players. The first phase of the passion infection requires that you dont just jump on any old affiliate program. Select a topic that you have this acquired case of passion for........ Lets say it is gardening.
Go to some gardening chat rooms and get involved in the conversation. This should not be too hard to do since you already have a passion in the topic. Ensure you spend a fair degree of your spare time in the chat rooms as you need to make a list of the hot topics. One or two nights will not be enough. This research will probably take up to a month to complete. Dont rush this stage of your infection with passion. Diligence now will save you much frustration and heartache in the future. Keep recording and keep getting involved with the conversations. Donft be afraid to ask questions.
During the second phase of your passion infection you will need to analyze the results of your record keeping. Look for frequent or common chat room questions over the month long reports. You have probably even started to notice a trend already. Perhaps you have noticed that bird baths have been mentioned alot with additional questions about which are the best plants to have in your garden to attract birds.
From here you can set about building your website. Phase three. Your gardening passion will allow you to have a site loaded with knowledgeable content relating to gardening. You can pay special attention to content relating to bird baths and bird attracting flora.
Finally once you have "optimized your website for search engines" and had it listed you can then add your lucky few. Your passionate lucky few are the affiliate programs you have found that best suit your needs. There are many gardening sites with affiliate programs on offer and most pay between 10-15% commissions. DirectGardening.com and BloomingBulb.com are but two.
Be passionate and take the time to plan your destiny. If you fail to plan, you have planned to fail.

Ten Questions To Ask About Any Investment Opportunity
Ten Questions To Ask About Any Investment OpportunityWith any investment, whether promoted in person, by mail, telephone, or on the Internet, a wise investor should always slow down, ask questions, and get written information. Take notes so you have a record of what you were told, in case you have a dispute later. Is the investment registered with the SEC and the state securities agency in the state where I live or is it subject to an exemption? Is the person recommending this investment registered with my state securities agency? Is there a record of any complaints about this person? How does this investment match my investment objectives? Where is the company incorporated? Will you send me the latest reports that have been filed on this company? What are the costs to buy, hold, and sell this investment? How easily can I sell? Who is managing the investment? What experience do they have? What is the risk that I could lose the money I invest? What return can I expect on my money? When? How long has the company been in business? Are they making money, and if so, how? What is their product or service? What other companies are in this business? How can I get more information about this investment, such as audited financial statements? http://www.sec.gov/investor/pubs/cyberfraud/questions.htm

8 Basic Rules for Choosing The Right Affiliate Program
Joining an Affiliate Program is a great way to start earning a sizeable income on the Internet without many of the hassles that come with running your own business.
But the problem is… there are so much affiliate programs out there for you. In this article I will guide you to choose the most suitable and profitable Affiliate Program for you. I recommend you to follow this rule before choosing an Affiliate Program.
1. Find a great quality product or service
Remember that any recommendation you make will reflect directly on you. If you recommend a great quality product, the people you recommended will always trusted you and be interested in future recommendations that you make. If you recommend a bad quality product, and I'll guarantee that they will likely hesitate to act on any offers you recommend.
Don't get greedy. Only recommend products that you truly believe in.
2. Look for a program that offers top commissions.
I think it's perfectly reasonable for you to expect to be paid 30% to 50% of the profits on each product sold. 5% to 10% is very low. You should look for companies who understand the "lifetime value" of new customers you refer and appreciate your efforts.
Only consider joining programs that show a similar level of respect for their affiliates.
3. Make sure they have a high sales conversion ratio.
Make sure that the affiliate program is turning a reasonable number of visitors into sales. If not, then your efforts directing traffic to their website will be completely wasted. A 1% conversion ratio (1 out of every 100 visitors) is quite good, 2%+ is better.
4. Be sure you'll be credited for every sales you make.
You should find out what kind of tracking software the Affiliate Program that you're interested in joining uses. You MUST look for a program that uses quality affiliate tracking software that is reliable and tracks ALL (online, by phone, fax, mail orders, etc), because there are many companies only track online orders, and this means that you will never get credit for anywhere from 5% - 10% of your affiliate sales!.
Make sure they have a high sales conversion ratio and a good tracking software.
5. They should allow you to access your sales statistics real time.
What I mean is that the Affiliate Program you join should give you a special username and password that you can use to access your own personal affiliate sales information right on their website. Many affiliate programs have done this, you don't have to worry about that, but incase they don't, you should reconsider to join them.
6. Look for a program that teaches you to maximize your affiliate sales.
A good affiliate program will provide you with everything you need to be successful. They'll provide you with traffic-generating banners, text-links, and recommendation letter templates. They'll tell you which techniques work well in which circumstances.
Find an affiliate program that is similarly dedicated to educating their affiliates.
7. Make sure they are reputable.
I still feel I should mention the importance of doing business with a reputable company. I know many people who have worked really hard, made a lot of sales for a company, but then they have never been paid or forced to wait months and months to get their money, I've been there too. If you have any concerns about a company that you are thinking of doing business with, ask for references and do some checks on them before you join them.
8. Be sure to read all contracts and agreements.
Before you join any affiliate program, just make sure that you read all contracts and agreements very carefully. Pay very close attention to exclusivity clauses in the agreement. Be careful that any affiliate agreement or contract you sign does not restrict you.

Going Broke Committing To Your Job? A Home-Based Business Is The Answer
As the price of gas hovers around $3 per gallon in many states, people everywhere are starting to wonder about their future. It doesn't help that oil industry analysts are predicting gas prices will remain high for months and maybe for years. Suddenly, commuting to your job is looking like a major investment that's already a big hit on your budget. Maybe it's time for you to finally start a serious home-based business. Don't panic. Starting a business at home doesn't need to take a big investment. It can be done cheaply, basically coming out of the grocery money. And you don't need more training or education, because some firms offer very simple, well thought out, automated systems for you to use. Expect to hear anywhere from a helpful part-time income of a few hundred dollars per month to an impressive full-time income that would rival the earnings of many corporate CEO's. Here's what to look for when choosing a home-based business: * Find something that really sounds exciting to you. Success in business is often based strictly on your enthusiasm for what you're selling. If you truly enjoy the product, you'll sell a whole lot more. * Don't let anyone tell you Network Marketing (or MLM) is a bad thing. Big corporate media reports often portray MLM in a bad light, but that's only because most reporters have very little experience working outside the corporation. The truth is MLM has hit it's own pace since the advent of the Internet. Many top companies are earning hundreds of millions of dollars each year, with thousands of happy members. These companies enjoy unprecedented low overhead and little to no debt. * Look for a home-based opportunity that comes with all the training and support you'll need to get started. Nothing can be more detrimental to your business than getting all set up, then finding out there is no one to help you figure out what to do next. Look for opportunities that have online assistance, telephone help, or get you connected with other more experienced members. Finally, don't put off the business you can start today. As the months go by and prices get even higher, more and more people will be looking for their own home based business to supplement or replace their income. Get started now to be at the top of this exciting movement. About the author:Euguene Byers has studied many home-based business opportunities. Affiliate Program Primer
Ever since Amazon launched what is perhaps the most well-known, but not the first, affiliate program in 1996, other merchants in every business category imaginable have followed suit. And even though many webmasters have earned money from these programs ever since, there are still a lot of questions to this day about affiliate (also known as associate or referral) programs. So maybe it's time to revisit some basics for new or soon-to-be Internet marketers. An affiliate program is, at the bottom line, a commissioned sales job. Like the Fuller Brush salesman of old, you are an independent representative of a company, offering their products or services to potential customers. When one of them buys, you get a percentage of the sale. But, in the high-tech version, you have a few very powerful advantages over the classic door-to-door sales rep. To start, you can represent multiple products from more than one company at a time, on as many web sites as you own, in as many markets as you choose. You don't have to travel anywhere, yet the web puts you in front of a worldwide market. This gives you an incredible diversity of products, markets, and "neighborhoods" to sell in, all from right in front of your computer screen. You could possibly make multiple sales at one time, yet you never have to deal with door-slammed-in-your-face rejection. On the Internet, you don't always even have to make a sale to earn a commission. Some affiliate programs will pay you if someone just clicks on a link at your site, fills out an application, or even asks for more information. And here's the best part - your web sites work for you around the clock, every day.Commission rates vary by type of product. Physical goods (that have to be shipped) tend to pay lower rates than products like software or ebooks that can be digitally delivered. However, 5% of a $2000 TV is more than 50% of a $50 ebook, so you have to remember to look at the big picture when deciding what affiliate products to offer. For best affiliate sales results, you'll want to offer products and services designed to appeal to the target audience of your web site. For example, it makes no sense to place affiliate links to mechanic's tools on a cooking site, while it makes perfect sense to place them on a site about restoring cars. There are several ways to join affiliate programs. Some companies operate their own program, and you will apply through the company web site. But many merchants choose to operate through an affiliate network. These third-party companies offer sign-up, tracking, payment, and overall affiliate program management services to merchants and affiliate marketers. A few top names are Commission Junction, LinkShare, and Clickbank. Just search for "affiliate program" or "affiliate network" and you're bound to find more. Your sales and clicks are tracked by software. It's your responsibility to make sure your links follow the guidelines stated by your merchant or affiliate network. Some browsers, ad-blocking software, link cloakers, and coding techniques (such as frames) can prevent the tracking links on your site from working properly, and you may not get credit if one of your clicks leads to a sale. Most all affiliate marketers sooner or later run into this, and when it happens, it's not intentional, so don't feel victimized. Technology is very good, but it's not perfect. For almost every Internet marketer, affiliate marketing offers a fast and inexpensive way to get started in an online business. These programs can help you generate income while you learn the ropes and work towards developing your own product or service, if that's your goal. And yes, you can even become an affiliate for the Fuller Brush Company!

Top Ten Lessons Learned in Internet Business
Top Ten Lessons Learned in Internet Business by Shelley Lowery ;)Since starting my Internet business back in 1997, I have learned many lessons along the way. These lessons have played a major role in my success, and I'd like to share them with you... Lesson #1Collecting your visitors' email addresses should be one of your top priorities.Start collecting email addresses the moment you put your site up. Developing a list of targeted potential customers is an absolute must.Although publishing an ezine is usually the best route togo, it is not a necessity. You can use your list to send outweb site updates, product updates, or whatever you'd like.Lesson #2Your web site can either make or break you.A professional looking web site will play a major role in your success. If you aren't secure in your abilities todesign a professional looking site, you will be much better off hiring a professional.Lesson # 3If you want to make a lot of money, you must create a niche. A niche fills a specific customer need.People want products and services that fulfill a specific personal need. If you are the first to fulfill the need, you'll reap the rewards.Lesson # 4Generating web site traffic takes a lot of time and effort. The key to generating a lot of traffic to your site is getting your link on as many sites as possible. Sure, listing your site with the Search Engines is your first step; however, you must not solely rely on SearchEngines to bring you traffic. My two biggest traffic generators are as follows:Affiliate Program - Having your own affiliate program is one of the best ways to get hundreds, even thousands of links to your web site. Providing a Free Product or Service - Providing your visitors with a free product or service is a great way todrive traffic to your site. For example, I offer a free article syndication service. This service provides free content for web sites brandedwith a link to my site.Lesson # 5Selling your own products and services is much more profitable than marketing affiliate programs. Some of the top Internet sellers include: . Software. Information. Private sites. Internet services Lesson # 6People do not like to be sold. You will be far more successful if you have a sincere desire to assist yourpotential customers. This can be accomplished by writing informative articles, courses, tutorials, or even providingadvice within discussion forums in your area of expertise. Trust plays a major role on the Internet. You must build your credibility with your target audience.Lesson # 7Automation can save you hours of valuable time. Although there are certain areas of business that must be personally dealt with, there are many areas that can be completely automated:. List management. Customer follow-up. Welcome messages. Thank you messages. Order processing. Order fulfillment. Order confirmationThis can be accomplished using autoresponders, scripts and software programs.Lesson # 8Organization is an essential part of developing a successful business:- Create a daily work schedule for an organized approach to each day.- Use an email program that will filter your messages into specific folders.- Organize your computer folders and files for quick and easy access.- Create a "Frequently Asked Questions" page to lessen support requests.- Create templates for frequently used messages.- Create a page (residing on your computer) that contains a list of affiliate programs you're promoting. Includeyour log-in information and hyperlinks for easy access.Lesson # 9Customer satisfaction and support should be your toppriority.Lesson # 10You have to spend money to make money. You must be willing to invest in your Internet business including:. Computer. Internet Access. Software. Domain Name. Web Hosting. Education (books, courses, etc.). AdvertisingLesson # 11 (I know, there were only supposed to be ten, but this one is important...)SPAM is a four letter word and will be treated as such.Although this list is far from complete, these lessons should provide you with some basic guidelines to assist you in developing a successful online business.Copyright © Shelley Lowery 2003. Exploding Six Sigma Myths
Six Sigma doesn't improve the customer experience. It may seem that Six Sigma turns the focus away from the customer because it is driven by data. In so many companies, quality improvement is driven by the latest customer complaint, or some manager's latest issue. This may seem like you are being responsive to the customers, but such an ad hoc and scatter-shot approach is inefficient and ultimately doomed to failure. The question you need to ask is what data is presented to the organization in order to select improvement projects? Without the right data, how can you succeed? Unless the approach is systematic and the solution driven by measurement and analysis, there is little hope for lasting quality improvement. Six Sigma is oriented toward the solution of problems at their root cause and the prevention of their recurrence, as opposed to attempting to control potential causes of failure on a project-by-project basis. Six Sigma inspired process redesign will change the way a company thinks about how they do their work and deliver their services. So many companies are focused on short-term financial goals. The “show me the money” attitudes of shareholders and the stock market shift focus away from the customer. Six Sigma, on the other hand, is clearly focused on the customer. It accomplishes this because it centers its attention on the end results and long-term cultural change. Six Sigma is not just about number crunching and finances. All of the numbers are just data used to reach the real goal of Six Sigma: helping increase quality and service for the customer. Companies need to figure out what their customers want and need. One thing any customer of any business in any industry wants is a better experience. Quality and efficiency don't only help the financial bottom line, they help the customer experience. Companies need to remember that their first and final allegiance should be to the customer. By embracing Six Sigma, a company can achieve greater quality and efficiency in the flow of information and interaction between people, especially interactions with customers. Transforming the process of these flows will yield quality results for the customer experience. Six Sigma is just another fad. There have been so many quality improvement fads over the years. It is not surprising that people are now a little jaded. The weakness of many of these fads is that they have the superficial appearance that something profound is happening, yet the substance is not there. A whole bunch of numbers and graphs on spreadsheets are not enough to bring about substantial and lasting quality improvement in an organization. The fads sell themselves as cheap and easy quick fixes. The reality is that there are no quick fixes to significant process improvement. Six Sigma understands that. Six Sigma is neither a fad nor a quick fix. The data and descriptive statistics that Six Sigma mines out of a project are real data and meaningful data. You use data to create actionable goals, analyze and determine the root cause(s) of defects, and then measure the results to shows how those goals were achieved. The data determines the causes of the problems that need improvement and how to eliminate the gap between existing performance and the desired level of performance. Tools are put in place to ensure that the key variables remain within the acceptable ranges over time so that process improvement gains are maintained. The changes brought about through Six Sigma are real, significant, and long-lasting. Also, Six Sigma is not a simple 1-2-3-you're done process. It is a “way of life.” It is a multi-level, cyclical movement toward continual process improvement. Six Sigma is a time-consuming and high-energy process. Companies develop a long-term plan that outlines the move from current performance levels to Six Sigma performance levels, with tangible, short-term goals in between. Successful Six Sigma programs are built on a solid organizational foundation. The organizational structure and system needs to be clearly identified and communicated to the entire organization to successfully implement Six Sigma Quality. Becoming a Six Sigma organization doesn't just happen. Planning and training goes into setting up a successful Six Sigma organization. Employee roles and responsibilities must be established and clearly communicated to all. The more Six Sigma projects your company completes, the more involved you become with more mature and meaningful projects than when you began. Six Sigma becomes part of the core of your business. It isn't a quick knock-off program; it keeps growing and changing as your business needs grow and evolve. The other fads didn't last at your organization, but Six Sigma will. Affiliate Program Scams To Watch Out For
Affiliate programs are a great way to earn extra money or even a good living if you do things right. But unfortunately, there are alot of people out there that know this and will do everything they can to swindle you into selling their products while not having to pay you a dime. There are some merchants that view affiliates as a source of free traffic and free marketing. Here are a few things that should draw up a red flag when you come accross an affiliate program:No Contact InformationIf they don't post their contact information on their site then you should not bother with them. To me this tells me they are trying to hide something.Commission To HighYes, it is great when we find affiliate programs that pay high commissions. But you also have to be careful that they are not just trying to draw you into their affiliate program by using big numbers. It wouldn't be good to earn alot of money just to get scammed. If it is to good to be true then most likely it is. A merchant will never pay more on a commission then they would get for the sale. It is just not business smart. No Replies To Your EmailsIf they do have their email address on their site and you send them an email but they never reply then you should drop them like a hot rock. If you can't trust them to take one minute to give you a reply then you shouldn't trust them to spend a few more minutes cutting and mailing you a check.Returned Affiliate Payment ChecksIf they do send you a check and your bank returns it then this would be another reason to draw up the red flag of being scammed. Of course you should always contact the merchant to try to resolve the issue, it could be an honest mistake. But if it happens in conjuction with no email replies and lousy affiliate support then I wouldn't waste anymore of my time with them. The bottom line is that you should always use your gut feeling when dealing with affiliate programs. If you are not sure about an affiliate program then search the search engines for the merchants name. If they are known for scamming affiliates you are sure to find it in the search engines and affiliate forums.

3 Crucial Elements For Jumping Sales Numbers
Marketers from every niche have common ground when it comes to bills. Yeah, every month there’s a new stack of bills demanding to be paid. Will there be enough profit to slide right through bill paying time without a flinch? Or do you find yourself fretting about whether you’ll even break even? You don’t have to be victimized by envelopes and 8x10 sheets of paper. Implement these 3 techniques to boost your sales. 1. Find More CustomersThe first thing that comes to mind when we think of making more money is getting more customers through our doors. In fact, the majority of advertising focuses on doing just that. There are several things you can do to entice more customers to buy from you.Implement Follow-UpsMarketing gurus have discovered that follow ups can increase your customer conversion rates by as much as 50%. Now, that’s a whopping improvement! Don’t let potential customers fade away. Keep the doors for future communication open, and watch the drastic growth in your profits.Encourage ReferralsEvery satisfied customer will tell 3 friends or family members about your business - without encouragement. Imagine what would happen if you start rewarding their efforts.Get Free PublicityNearly everyone keeps a sharp eye on the local news. Hey, it’s funner to know what’s going on when you personally recognize the names and faces in print! Find ways to make your business newsworthy and catch the attention of potential customers without even paying advertising fees.2. Sell More Per CustomerThink about it... how can you get every customer that walks through your doors to spend more money before walking back out the doors? Here are 3 sure-fire, profit increasing tips:Increase your prices.Hey, that might not be as bad as you think. Along with the price increase, focus on increasing the perceived value of your product. Yeah, we all expect to pay a little more for high quality stuff. Not everyone is bent on finding the absolute cheapest price in town... they may be more interested in lasting quality.Add some higher end products or services to your business. It’s never wise to put all of your eggs in one basket. That’s why wise marketers diversify their products and services. Think of it this way... higher priced products may not make as many sales, but each sale will bring in a much greater profit. You don’t need to make as many sales to come out on the best end of the deal.UpsellOffer every customer an additional product that accents his current purchase at the register. Hey, maybe they forgot they’d need batteries to go with the toy they're getting for their niece's birthday gift! You can be a hero... a richer hero.3. Sell More OftenThe fact that it’s easier to sell to the people who know and trust you is obvious. Sometimes we get so focused on new customers that we miss the gold mine in our own back yard. Take advantage of the hard work you’ve invested in winning the loyal customers you already have with these ideas:Create a Special Deal Show your customers you appreciate them and understand their needs with a special offer catered just for them. You’ll be thanking them, and selling more in the process.Add New ProductsIncrease the number of products you already have available - especially products that your customers have asked for. They’ll know that you’re looking out for them, and you’ll take their thanks to the bank.CommunicateResell yourself on a regular basis. Don’t forget to let them know about upcoming specials that they’ll appreciate. Most of all... keep selling them on the benefits of the products or services you offer.About the author:Who is Allyn Cutts, and why should you care? Affiliate Programs - Which One?
Promoting affiliate programs is probably one of the most popular and realistic ways of making money online. You really can make money doing this, and the money can be substantial with some work. The type of affiliate program you use or promote will depend on your particular situation. One of the most common types of affiliate programs is the pay per sale/pay per lead program. These are also called CPA or cost per action affiliate programs. These pay you for sales and for other actions that your referred customers make. This type of program can be promoted on websites and in other ways depending on the particular programs terms. It is very versatile.CPC (cost per click) programs pay you when vistors to your site click on your ads. You are paid per click. There are also PPC (pay per click) programs which are similar. CPC programs are great for websites with content.CPM (cost per mille) affiliate programs pay you for showing ads on your website. You are paid per 1000 impressions - per 1000 times the ad is shown on your website. This is great for websites that get a lot of traffic. All three types can pay very well. It is a good idea to experiment and see what works for you. Some people like to use multiple affiliate programs on a site, such as a cpc program and a cpa program, or some other combination. If you are thinking of doing non website based promotion, CPA programs are worth considering.

Getting a Small Business Loan
Are you in need of financial resources in order to start or even maintain your small business? Most of us are. The fist step is to take a look at the vast number of commercial loan sources that offer help in this area such as Chase, Citibank, etc. Also, with the Small Business Administration (SBA), you should be able to arrange a connection with one of these banks. This is one of many organizations that specialize in loans to small businesses. Contrary to the belief that bankers actually look for reasons to turn down prospective clients in need of a loan, they are in the business to lend money. This means that every time a banker is sitting in front of a potential client, they are hoping to make the deal work just as much, if not more than the client wants it to work. A bank’s primary role in the small business lending area is funding growth. An example of this would be to finance the expansion of small business with a proven track record. Most banks can offer a wide variety of loan packages designed to finance expansion of an already existing small business. Below are a few examples bank loan packages : 1. Asset Based Financing. Asset Based Financing is a general term describing a transaction whereby a lender accepts collateral and assets of a company in exchange for a loan. Most asset based loans are collateral against other accounts receivable, inventory, or equipment. Accounts receivable is the most favored of the three because it can be converted into cash quickly. Banks will only advance funds on a percentage of receivable or inventory, typically being around 75% of the receivable and 50% inventory. 2. Line of Credit. A line of credit involves the bank’s setting aside designated funds for the business to draw against for the cash it needs. As the line of credit is used, the credit line is reduced and when payments are made the line is replenished. One major advantage of a line of credit is that no interest is accrued unless the funds are actually used. 3. Floor Planning. Floor Planning is another form of asset based lending in which the borrower’s inventory is used as collateral for the loan. Car dealerships are a prime example of a business that often uses floor planning as their primary financial tool. Work At Home Business Plan
Work from Home Business Plan I started working from home about 7 years ago and it took awhile for the business to get off the ground, but it happened. It took alot of hard work, long hours and trail and error, but it paid off in the end. First thing to do, is develop a business plan and write down everything that may come into your mind, no matter how small. I have outlined a few of my ideas below, that worked for me. 1. Find a product, something that interests you and something you would buy. 2. Find a good and dependable wholesaler dropshipper. 3. Think of a catchy name for the store. Something that draws attention to your store. 4. Find a good and reliable web hosting company. You can usually register a domain name through the web hosting company and they will provide a means to collect payments from your store, either through Paypal or a Merchant Account. 5. Keep content fresh on your site and add new items to your store often or rotate items on a page, if you do not have new items to add. 6. Submit your store to search engines, link exchange directories, forums and message boards. Write an article about your store. 7. Have business cards made and advertise offline as well, along with carrying one of your products with you at all times. Word of mouth works great, mention your store to anyone that has a interest in your product. In the end, stick to your idea and make it work. If that product doesn't sell, there are tons of products out there that will sell For any assistance to star business or advice write to the admin and get a quick and reliable answers. To Can Start It Now!!!

Are You Guessing In The Dark When It Comes To E-Commerce?
In the early days, guessing was considered to be the smartest thing to do. After all, we needed to start somewhere and develop ourselves from scratch so we were ready to find out what works and what doesn’t. Today, guessing is the least smart thing do. In fact, it can be the most expensive thing to do in terms of time, effort and maybe money. So, what has that got to do with you and starting your internet business? A lot! In my experience, I cannot help but notice that most internet business novices prefer to take the guessing path even though there is a lot of uncertainty when you first step into the cyber marketplace. I think I will probably never know why, but I believe the reason is, is that they would prefer to save the little money they have rather than to invest in the essential education they need to succeed online. Money is another subject by itself that I can’t cover in this article but I’d like you to know that it’s “time over money” and not “time is money” dogma that most of us subscribe to. If you don’t believe me, here’s a case study for you. Ed has $500 to spare on his internet business. He wants to start an internet business but he doesn’t know how to. He came across a $97 E-book that can teach him how to do just that, but he decided that $97 is too expensive and decides to take the free way. Ed wants to get web hosting and domain name but since buying a domain name has a price tag on it, he decides to use a free web hosting service at Yahoo! Now, Ed doesn’t know how to get started let alone recognize his available options. By luck, he’s heard about affiliate marketing and decides to be one. After a couple of months without much success, Ed decides to create his own information product but doesn’t know how to. There’s a paid guide on how one can create his own information product but decides that $37 should go to filling his stomach. Now let’s zoom into year two, and what are the results for Ed? A lot of precious time wasted shooting in the dark, lousy results, a hole in the pocket, and maybe a swell in the pride. What an expensive price to pay for being a cheap skate! By the way, the name Ed is a fiction. However, the case study is REAL. And I don’t know how many more people are just like Ed. Even after a few months in business online, the internet business novices are still just that, internet business novices. This explains why we still have people complaining in public forums about not heading anywhere with their internet business even after a couple of years working online. Is that what you really want? I don’t think anyone wants to remain an amateur for the next three years, let alone forever. Not me, that’s for sure! I’d prefer to pay for information that can save me from doing the guesswork. You can say that in a way, I’d rather pay other people who have done the guessing for me so I can get ahead quickly. I don’t mind forking out the money as long as I get to save my own time and effort. However, most people just don’t seem to value their time. This is evident as most novices prefer to save the few dollars they have than to invest their small sum in saving their time from guessing. This explains why we have people whining about not progressing much online even after a couple of years working online. If you have been trying to save the few dollars you have from investing in the essential education you need to succeed online, you are guaranteed to have little or no results with so much of your precious time wasted. So, are you going to guess in the dark or invest in your essential education to succeed in your internet business? It’s your choice from here. Are Your Affiliate Programs Eating Away Your Money And Time
So many times I have heard this. So many examples I do remember. People have left the internet business after being disappointed with their so called affiliate programs. An affiliate program is an excellent way to earn money especially in the beginning. I said beginning because at that time one does not understand the market and is too naïve to bring his own product out in right way.Affiliate programs fill that gap nicely. You have got a readymade product and a readymade webpage too (though you can develop your own and you should be doing that). There is only one aspect left to make that money.Making sales. But you need to choose your affiliate program carefully. An affiliate program should be free to join. You should be cautious of the programs that will charge you upfront to be able to become their affiliates. Sometimes you buy a product and get affiliate status as bonus. That is acceptable. But a good affiliate program should not charge you a membership fee monthly or yearly whatever the case may be. There are some programs which charge you a monthly fee for becoming a member and you are expected to recruit more for getting a commission. These are not affiliate programs but MLM programs.Be cautious when you join such programs. They do not offer a good product to sell. The only thing that you have to sell is the membership. Such programs may eat up a lot of your money before you realize their worthlessness. In such programs you sell a membership and your recruit is expected to sell the same in return. This kind of sale is not only hard to accomplish but also associated with high attrition. That means the rate of members dropping out is very high. Also you should get a good commission. Check the percentage offered. Good programs offer 50-60% commissions. Though high priced products seem quite lucrative due to apparent volume of money in commission but selling a high priced product may not be that easy task too. It is because the market for those may not be that large. So you need to select your product carefully. One very important factor that is often ignored is your aptitude for the particular product. Select a product that you can associate your interests with. For example if you like gardening then a product that caters the gardening needs will be easier to sell than a selling a real estate product.Because in sales first of all you need to be convinced about the usability and benefits of the product before you attempt to sell it. If the product is around the area of your interest you can easily identify the beneficial aspects. Then you will find it easier to convince your potential customers.Study the market and demand for that product. If the demand is high the sales are easier. To study the demand go to Overture or Google and look for the search made around the keywords of your product. It will give you a fair idea about the demand.Plan your market strategies beforehand. It is better if you make your own website instead of promoting the copy of the original page laced with your link. Having your own website gives you a unique identification and professional look. The other advantage is that you can promote multiple products on the same page rather than promoting different pages separately. Web hosting is quite cheap now a days and webpage can be easily built in front page.Try and give your full efforts into promoting what you have got. Affiliate programs are good way to learn the market tactics. Learn and try them best to your abilities.Stick with the product you have chosen instead of jumping to the new offer of some other product. New products are being released everyday but being new does not mean that it is better and easier to sell. Analyze regularly. Test regularly and keep working.Your commission graph would definitely rise.Wish you success. Author is a doctor, marketer and writer. Avoid These 3 Destiny Destroyers to Reach Your Goal!
The couple in the photograph at the beginning of this post are no doubt having a good life. They are riding in a boat at sea and having the best of times. As human beings,we all dream of the good life and earnestly pray towards attaining it but most times when we have difficulties,we tend to blame others, not ourselves.Everybody must be blamed but not us.I have however found that though there might be certain hurdles constituted by others on our road to success(I don’t believe anybody can hinder you),we are our geatest undoing when it comes to attaining success as there are some 3 destiny destroyers which reside within us and which we give a free reign to control our ability to achieve success. Now,I know you are already thinking, what are these 3 destiny-destroyers? They are procrastination, doubt, and fear. Now,let me explain them one-by-one.Procrastination.What is it? It is simply putting off till tomorrow what you can do today and I dare say it is the greatest destroyer of destinies.Everytime there is a chance for you to work towards achieving success, procrastination brings out 101 reasons you should postpone doing that thing till tommorrow and that tomorrow never seems to come so you never achieve your goal. One way of dealing with this deadly evil is to shout to yourself, each time you find yourself in this sort of situation-do it now!3 short words but they are very powerful in overcoming procrastination.Doubt.You are always doubting whatever step you have made up your mind to take that will lead you to the success you so much desire.Look,if you don’t put doubt where it belongs in your life,it will ultimately destroy all your channces of attaining success.Yes,it is good to doubt every step you want to take so that you can give it a thorough thought but once you are sure of whatever you want to do,please go ahead and do it.Stop doubting if that business you want to lay hands on will be successful or not, once you have done your research and you have come up with a positive result, please go ahead, that is the only way to achieve success.Fear.Fear of tomorrow, fear of the unkonwn, fear of the future.Yes,we all have our fears but you must determine to move ahead inspite of your fears.’Courage’,Mark Twain says,’is the mastery of fear, not the absence of fear.’Master your fears, all the big achievers you see today also have their fears about whatever project they are working on but they have learnt to master their fears and that is why the world is celebrating them today.Determine to take charge of your financial destiny today, tomorrow might be too late. Now that you know the 3 reasons you are still where you are financially, make up your mind to take the steps that will take you to where you want to be.Before I go,let me share this opwerful quote with you:’everyday,do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorow’-Doug Firebaugh. add by admin of dollarsforum.com from http://www.iyabooyawale.com/blog/

20 Small Business Tips, For Success
These are just some general tips to keep in mind as you design/operate your small business: 1. Take the time out to explore and understand whether or not you are compatible with running our own business. Some people are just plain happier and better off financially on the other end of the paycheck. 2.Get your personal finances in order. Before you jump into the entrepreneurship world, get your own money matters squared away. 3. Pick your niche. Many small business owners succeed in businesses that are hardly unique or innovative. Take stock of your skills, interests, and employment history to select the business that is best suited for you. 4. Benefit from your business plan. The exercise of creating a business plan is what pays the dividends. Answer the tough questions now before the meter starts running. 5. Do not think you need bankers and investors at the outset of your business. The vast majority of small businesses are bootstrapped. 6. Acquire the proper background. In the early months and years of your business, you will have to acquire many skills. Gain the background you need to oversee all facets of your business well, but determine what tasks you should outsource or hire employees. 7. Remember that nothing happens until a sale is made – How many good products go nowhere because they do not reach the shelves? Sales drive your business. You will need a good marketing plan to sell your product or service. 8. You have to see a customer to know one. N o matter how busy you are, spend at least 25% of your time with customers. You cannot make the proper business decision without understanding their viewpoint. 9. Solve your customers’ problems. The best way to satisfy your customers is not by selling them products but by giving solutions to their problems. There is a big difference. 10.Quality takes minutes to lose but years to regain. Quality is not a destination, it is a never ending journey. After you have strayed from quality’s path, your journey maybe sidetracked forever. 11. Put profitability first, rewards seconds. In small businesses, profitability must come first. Find out how to measure your cash flow and understand key financial ratios. 12. Hire supporters. If you intend to create a growing business, your number one duty is to assemble a great team of employees. 13. Do not do it alone. Find such help from small business peers, a mentor, even trade associations. They can help take some of the trial and error of beginning your business. 14. Vendors are partners too! Treat your vendors like customers and watch your partnership grow. 15. Make use of benefits. Understand how to provide insurance and other benefits for your employees and cut your tax bill at the same time. 16. Ignore regulatory issues at your peril. Federal, state, and local governments require licenses, registrations, and permits. Obey them or face losing your business. 17. Know the tax laws. Invest in understanding tax issues that affect your small business. 18. It’s the people! Whatever happens to a small business happens at the hands of the people who work for it. The evolution of the business is a result of their efforts. 19. Fast, good, cheap. Pick any two. Serious trouble awaits those who attempt to be all three in the market place. Stick with what you do best. 20. Develop a passion for learning. As your business grows, you need to change and grow along with it. One common denominator can be found in all successful business owners and that is a passion for learning. Internet Affiliate Programs: The Fundamentals of Creating In
Affiliate programs uses a simple concept for you to create an income online: Earn commissions when you make a sale. You don't need to worry about the costs for setting up the business nor advertising. It costs zero! When we think of successful online businesses, websites such as: Amazon.com (biggest online bookstore), eBay.com (largest auction website), Yahoo.com (most well-known search engine) usually spring into mind. On the contrary, you probably have heard of dot-com companies turned dot-bombs. So you think, “How do I make money on the internet when I don’t have money to advertise like those big guys such as Amazon.com or Yahoo.com?”… Well, you don’t need money to make money! There are several ways to make money through the internet, and one of them is through affiliate programs. Best of all, it costs nothing to sign up!“What are affiliate programs? Isn’t it just another get-rich quick plot or some hocus-pocus that’s all a scam?”Affiliate programs (also known as referral/associate programs) are legitimate and not get-rich-quick scams. It’s a simple concept: Earn commission for each sale you make. As a matter of fact, even big guys like Amazon.com launched affiliate programs to fuel their sales and to increase their brand, hence that further proves my point that affiliate programs aren’t scams. How Affiliate Programs Work…Using Amazon.com as an example, here’s an illustration on how affiliate programs work…An affiliate (let’s call her ‘Lily’) owns a website about movie-making, so she chose a few books related to her website including the best-seller “How to Write a Hollywood Movie Script in 5 minutes!”Lily then puts unique links to each of these books on her website that enables Amazon to identify the visitor she sends. One of Lily’s visitors was so impressed by Lily’s review on the book “How to Write a Hollywood Movie Script in 5 minutes!” that she wanted to buy it immediately, the visitor then saw “Buy it now on Amazon.com!”…. CLICK!The visitor enters the Amazon site, Amazon identifies this visitor is from Lily. The visitor then checks out with the book and pays using credit card. Lily is paid a commission on that sale!Affiliate Programs vs. Selling Your Own Products on the WebSure enough as a web merchant, you get 100% of the profits made. But you will have to fuss with start-up costs, advertising, marketing, shipping, credit-card processing, products/ services to maintain, customer services, customer complaints, web hosting, accounting, staff training…Phew! That’s a lot work! But…As an affiliate, you don’t need your own products to sell; you don’t need to incur the costs: Your start-up cost is zero; and you don’t have to deal with the customers’ orders or accounting or all the above because the merchant will handle all these for you. In some affiliate programs, you can also recruit and train sub-affiliates under you. Your training pays off when your sub-affiliate gets a sale, because you earn ‘training commission’ too. I’ll get more in-depth about this later in the article.“But I’m not a computer or internet-savvy person! I don’t have a website too!”Don’t worry! An effective affiliate finds thousands of ideas to sell online, or offline! You can advertise locally in newspapers, in articles you write, recommend it to friends, notice boards, etc… There are no limits.“Great! How do I start?”As easy as it sounds, I’m sad to say that it’s not a piece of cake if you plan to sit there and wait for the cash to come to you. In the affiliate business, it follows the 80-20 rule – 80% of the benefit is only achieved by 20% of the affiliates. So if you want to get rich quick, affiliate program isn’t for you… but if you want to be one of the 20% affiliates who get 80% of the benefit… read on.First of all, ask yourself why you want to start an affiliate business on the internet…“Um… to earn some cash and buy things I want”No, I want you to be as specific as possible…For example, “I want to increase my income so that I can afford a sports car and have the ultimate sense of pride when I drive into the yard of my friends who said that I will never succeed in making money on the internet! I want my friends to be envious; I want to prove them wrong!”When you know what you want and the more specific you get, the stronger your commitment, determination and persistence to succeed will be.I know it sounds really corny, but it is a simple rule that the 80% affiliates don’t follow!Secondly, you must…Choose a Good Affiliate ProgramThere are many affiliate programs out there but you need to focus on the ones that work for you. I suggest a few good criteria to look for in affiliate programs:1) High-value products/servicesWhen I said ‘value’, I don’t mean the price tag. Let’s say, you are an affiliate for 2 companies which are in similar industries, both offering 30% commission. One sells its product for $50 and the other for $150. So you think,“Hmmm… When I make a sale, I get more commission from company no.2 ($45) than company no.1 ($15). Wow!”Although it is simple logic, ask yourself this question first, “will I buy this $150 product when I know there are cheaper ones out there?”Think like your customer, question yourself “Am I paying my money’s worth on this product?”, “Does the company offer great value for a dollar?”If you answer ‘no’ for both these questions, you’ll know that the company will eventually die.2) High Affiliate and Customer SupportOne of the key areas to look for when choosing a good affiliate program is their support system. A company that values its customers and affiliates is a company that grows. The company must be able to provide as many resources for their affiliates to promote their products, e.g. training, newsletters, banners, free stuff, etc.Furthermore, it should also listen to its customers’ suggestions, complaints and be able to keep their customers happy. Remember, happy customers mean long-lasting company as happy customers will spread the good word of the company and its products, which means there will be more business opportunities for you!3) Team SalesThere are some affiliate programs that allow you to recruit sub-affiliates under you. When your sub-affiliates perform well, you are also rewarded with a ‘coaching’ commission for their sales because it is your duty as a team leader to coach your sub-affiliates. Although most affiliate programs on the internet doesn’t support team-building, it is preferable that you choose one that does. The reason is simply:T.E.A.M = Together Everyone Achieves MoreSure enough, you can do the whole affiliate business by being a lone ranger, but you are limiting your own capacity to earn more. Moreover, the results are two-fold: you will enjoy a second stream of income (unless you plan to do it full-time) AND the satisfactions of helping others to earn another source of income too!4) Repeat Sales PotentialOther than achieving one-time sales, it is recommended if the affiliate program entitles you to lifetime customers, which means ‘once your customer, always your customer!’A company with a good sales structure will retain their customers and encourage repeat sales. Thus, you get commissions for repeat sales too.5) Reputable and Reliable CompanyCheck the company’s history on the newsgroup or http://groups.google.com, and find out whether it’s well-established. Are their customers satisfied? Are the affiliates happy? Does the company keep changing the affiliate policy? I’m sure no one wants their affiliate business suddenly gone because the merchant company failed! An Ideal Affiliate ProgramA great example of a company that meets all the criteria listed above is:Sitesell Companyhttp://www.sitesell.com/ff.htmlTheir affiliate program, 5 Pillar Club, was named ‘The best affiliate program on the net’ by affiliatesdirectory.com, a web directory that tracks thousands of affiliate programs on the net.Furthermore the top affiliate guru, Allan Gardyne, ranked it as one of the top affiliate program in his website, associateprograms.comLastly, Open Your Mind to Creative IdeasRead as many articles/books as possible on the subject of selling or marketing to expand your mind to accept more ideas and concepts on how to sell! There are a lot of information on the internet to help you in your affiliate business, it costs zero to invest in your greatest asset… you. (Note: It’s not ‘your brain’ because you need your arms and legs to put your thoughts into action! ;D )To help you get started on the technical aspect, here’s a great starter pack: a free e-mail course on affiliate business-building.Just send a blank e-mail to:The Affiliate Masters Course by Ken Evoy: tamsff@sitesell.netI hope you enjoy building your own affiliate business as much as I do.
